Q: What does an IEP document review actually include? I read your child’s IEP — whether it’s their first or an annual update — and give you a written set of guiding questions to bring into the meeting. You’ll know what to look for, what to push back on, and what questions the school should be able to answer. I don’t just hand you a checklist. I tailor the questions to your child’s specific profile.

Q: Do you attend IEP meetings? Yes — that’s included in the Full Support Package. If you want someone in the room who knows how to read the school team, ask the right questions in real time, and make sure your child’s needs don’t get minimized, that’s what the full package is for.

Q: Do you help with homeschooling? Yes — but specifically for families of children with IEPs, 504 plans, or twice-exceptional profiles. I help you understand Florida homeschool law, find curriculum that actually fits your child’s learning profile, and build a daily structure that’s sustainable — especially if you’re homeschooling more than one child with different needs. I also complete the required annual portfolio review.

Q: How do you help with school transitions? Transitions are where supports get lost. When a child changes schools, moves from elementary to middle, or shifts between programs, the services and accommodations that took years to put in place can quietly disappear. I help families prepare strategically — reviewing documents, identifying what needs to be explicitly carried forward, and giving you a written transition plan to bring into those conversations.

Q: What experience do you bring to this work? More than 20 years across nearly every level of education — classroom teaching, literacy intervention, instructional leadership, district work, and now as an adjunct professor and clinical supervisor at USF. I’m also a parent of a twice-exceptional child who was identified late despite early concerns. That combination of professional expertise and lived experience is what makes this work different.

Q: Do you work with families outside of Tampa? Yes. Most of my work is done virtually, so I serve families across Florida. If you’re local to Wesley Chapel or Tampa and prefer to meet in person, we can discuss that on your discovery call.

Q: Do you accept Step Up for Students scholarships? Yes — I am a verified Florida Education Scholarship (FES-UA) provider through Step Up for Students. If your child has an eligible scholarship, you can use it for qualifying consulting services. If you’re not sure whether your scholarship applies, bring it up on your discovery call and we’ll figure it out together.
